Wen-Mei Chou, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor
Professor
Killeen/Temple, Texas Area
I have a Ph.D. degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and am licensed as an LMFT-S and an LPC-S. I am an AAMFT-approved clinical supervisor, a trained hypnotherapist, and a certified Integral Breath Therapy trainer. I am a professor and the coordinator of the Marriage and Family Child Counseling (MFCC) program at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB).
I love sharing my knowledge and skills through teaching and supervision. I received the Outstanding Teaching Award from the Associate for Counselor Education and Supervision in 2020, the Excellent in Teaching Award from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2021, and the Professor of the Year Award from the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in 2023.
There are many professional associations that have been supporting my development, and I want to support them, too. I have served as a member of the TAMFT Board of Directors and as the Secretary for the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (TACES) Board of Directors.
I believe professional MFTs should always focus on love and healing. We are experts in removing barriers and divisions in human relationships. We are the living example of how it is possible to live together in peace. I was born and raised in Taiwan, came to the United States for higher education, met my husband in our doctoral program, and have settled our interracial family roots in Texas.
