As a young at heart, motivated counseling and student personnel services professional, I am a seeker of global student affairs opportunities that will increase my experience and professional growth in an outstanding profession.

I am currently enrolled at the University of Georgia in the Counseling and Student Personnel Services (P-16 and Social Justice)Ph.D. program. My experiences in individual counseling and student affairs at Andrew College (Director of Student Success at a small, residential, two-year college providing an academically challenging liberal arts curriculum within a nurturing community); Morehouse School of Medicine; University of Georgia;and Georgia Perimeter College, I am delighted to express my joy and optimism in supporting students. Moreover, I enjoy focusing on populations who are most at-risk and supporting students who are interested in learning more about at-risk populations. My passion is grounded in social justice philosophies/ideologies for the sole purpose of helping individuals see their potential through formal/informal education and experiential learning.

I am also dedicated to assisting students with academic, career and personal issues by helping them balance individual personal needs, abilities and career aspirations with academic curriculum.

My cross-disciplinary experiences include: student affairs positions in academic advising and personal counseling; child, family and adult counseling positions; as well as children and family advocacy roles. I look forward to meeting new like-minded colleagues and friends to continue the journey. Thank you for allowing me to experience this wonderful conference.

Cheers,

Nathaniel O. Brown, MSW, AMS
