Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Affirming approaches are essential for counseling sexually and gender diverse people. Review of the literature reveals that assessment of the salience, valence, context, and integration of issues related to sexual and gender diversity facilitates affirmative practice at the individual, group, and system-wide levels. Presenters will explain the theoretical and empirical support for the salience, valence, context, and integration (SVCI) model with emphasis on practical application.
