The Negative Impact of Sexual and Gender Identity Microaggressions in Counseling and Counselor Education is an interactive educational presentation that utilizes strategies learned from dealing with racial microaggressions to better enhance mental health services provided to sexual and gender minorities. This education session presents key cultural competency strength-building strategies such as appropriate use of terminology, self-assessment of heterosexist biases, and guidelines for enhancing cultural sensitivity when working with sexual and gender minorities.
